Fall In Love with Your Life

Fall In Love with Your Life

Changing the narrative of life.

Recently I found myself overwhelmed and constantly tired. No matter the amount of sleep I obtained the night before, I was still exhausted. This caused me to evaluate my life and question if this feeling was the big bad word- DEPRESSION or was I just emotionally DRAINED.

I can honestly say my life has been on a fast pace for the past year. Constantly on the go for the business and life in general. I recently got a call from one of my best friends who knew deep down that I was drowning myself- she felt it. Her exact words to me “If you don’t take care of yourself and enjoy every moment and depend on God, you will end up sick and not available for your family”. I heard her, but I didn’t want to listen.

On this past Tuesday- this same friend, this angel, my sister passed away from cancer. So once again I found myself replaying our conversations. Her telling me through text- I love you sis to infinity and beyond, or keep praying, keep going and don’t stop.

Why am I telling you this?

For one, life is too short to spend chasing, dwelling on the negative aspects of what you can’t accomplish, what you failed at, who likes you etc... I have decided that I am going on a journey to enjoy life to the fullest. There are too many of us out there going through at this time. I don’t know if it is in the air or if it is just coincidental, but I wanted to share some of things I am learning and hopefully it will encourage you.

PRAY MORE- As a faith-based company, I stand firm believing that God only gives you what you can bare. It is up to you to trust Him throughout the process. Every day before I step out of my bed, I am saying thank you. Thank you for life, love and grace. Learn to be thankful for the little things- the air you breathe, waking up in the right mind set, your family, yourself, your friends, your church, your business… etc. Pray that your day is ordered and if it is not in His plan, that He removes any obstacle. You don’t have time for any unnecessary foolishness. Life is too short. (Remember- Psalms 23:4)

LOVE, LIVE and LEAD MORE- Honor everyday with Love. Take a walk in the middle of the day. Make a decision to not let little things get to you. Breathe before responding in both good and bad situations. Learn to speak life and not negativity to anyone or anything. Let it go! Love and uplift your sisters every day. If I can’t uplift my sister by loving her or encouraging her, I have not only failed God, but myself and my community. (Remember Proverbs 11:12)

TALK MORE- Treasuring my family. Spending time together at dinner. No TV, no devices, just us. Talking through the ups and downs of the day. Learning to communicate through listening and laughter. When you feel down, have someone to talk to. Sometimes you don’t need a response from anyone, you just want a listening ear. Find a true prayer partner, someone who is spiritually connected to you and treasure that person. You can be strong for so long, but sometimes you need to let people know you need to talk. And do just that- talk, cry, laugh and talk some more. (Remember 2 John 1:12)

DROP MORE- Deep cleanse from people who drain you. Some folks deserve to be held close, while others need to be dealt with from a distance. Determine who those people are and handle them accordingly. For those you need to release, learn a communication strategy. Talk only when YOU want to. Pray for that person and keep it moving. If a person is not speaking life words, they really do not have a purpose in your life at this moment. It is not about them, it is about you and your wellbeing. (Remember Proverbs 18)

TRUST MORE- Trust God in everything. Trust Him in E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. He already knows the future. My mom always tells me everything happens for a reason and that His timing is always perfect. As a human, you doubt and you hurt, but I know to trust. While all else fails, He will never fail. (Remember Psalms 62:8)

I truly hope this has helped you as much as it has helped me while writing it. My goal is to be more personable so you can get to know me even more.

Have a blessed day, month and rest of the year.
